*If you are attending Sunday Mass or any church service during the week,
then park in any space marked SMC.
At times when there is no church service or other parish activity,
these spaces are reserved for those attending Saint Michael's Centre.
Please note yourself: and ensure family and friends know too, that several Priests will be at OLSM to hear Confessions in preparation for Christmas, at lO o’clock am, Saturday 17"' December.
It is sacrilege to receive Holy Communion in a state of mortal sin. You will know only too well that members of your family might miss Mass month after month, and yet swan up the aisle at Christmas. Thank heavens they come to
Christmas Mass, BUT encourage them all to do so properly prepared Set them an example I
Next Sunday, 23rd October, at Llantarnam Abbey (near Cwmbran), 10am to 4pm.
Young adults of High School age & above welcome.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Canon Sylvester O'Donnell, parish priest of Margam, Port Talbot, whose Requiem took place last Tuesday.
Don't forget that our Bishops have legislated that we do NOT eat meat on Fridays, as part of our common witness to Christ, who died on the Cross on a Friday. It's not a joke, nor an option. Our Shepherds have done this for sound theological and pastoral reasons.
*If you're in a restaurant, or
*if you're visiting friends,
don't forget to let them know you need fish or something vegetarian. This is not 'being awkward', it's 'giving witness'.
Incidentally ... the word for FISH in Greek is ICHTHUS ... using each letter to begin another word, we can make this into: JESUS CHRIST, GOD'S SON, $AVIOUR So by eating Fish you are declaring the depth of your belief
Many thanks to those kind persons who returned (or posted on) CAFOD Family Fast Day offerings.
Malcolm Williams, who was Received into Full Communion with the Catholic Church last Sunday;
Annabel Hathway, daughter of Russell & Maribel (nee Refuerzo) who was baptized at OLSM on Saturday 15th October.
It is our pious tradition to pray especially for the repose of the souls of the Faithful Departed during the month of November. Please note that from 31st Oct. to the 8th Nov., we shall celebrate a Novena for those listed in our Parish Book of Remembrance. Please take one of the special 'November List' sheets and return as soon as possible, together with your Mass Stipend enclosed.
Our Safeguarding Officer will be taking in hand the applications for new CRB checks for all in our Parish involved with youngsters/vulnerable adults. Details will be given in the Bulletin in due course.
In the meantime please note: no one has permission to visit homes in the name of the Parish unless they have the required clearance. Thank you for your co-operation.

To help us build on the Centre’s ever growing reputation as a desirable venue for Parish and Community activity, we invite parishioners to get involved and to help with a few hours as volunteers as follows:
* OFFICE :to greet visitors and to answer the phone.
* EVENTS: to help with the Bar or serving food,etc.
* MAINTENANCE: help with redecoration, setting up the marquee when required, etc.
* MARKETING: distribution of information.
REMEMBER: if everyone does a little bit, there’s no burden for just the few—the Centre exists to benefit YOU, so get stuck in folks !
